The Ikawa Ryokan in Hiroshima offered a unique experience with its traditional Japanese setup. The futons felt comfortable on tatami floors, creating an authentic atmosphere. The location couldn't be better. just a short walk to the Peace Park and local shops. I really appreciated the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms. The staff were eager to help, especially with recommendations around the area. However, I found the shared dining space a bit limiting, making it tricky to enjoy meals with friends. The communal bath could have used a cleaner tub for more reassurance. Overall, it was a good stay, blending comfort with cultural immersion.

We loved the location! It’s just a short walk to Peace Park and nearby shops. Our family room was spacious, providing a cozy setup for everyone. Plus, they were accommodating with our service dog, which made our stay even better.
In my wife’s opinion, a kids’ play area would be great.

The only downside was that there was no dedicated dining area for our meals, which made it a bit tricky to enjoy our food together.

A strategic location near significant sites makes this ryokan a great choice. The cleanliness of shared bathrooms was impressive, providing a comfortable experience while immersing in local culture, particularly with the traditional room setup. However, the lack of dining space for self-prepared meals was inconvenient, and there's no option for western-style furniture, which might pose a challenge for those uncomfortable with sitting on the floor.

I had a lovely stay with clean, cozy rooms and appreciated the complimentary body wash and shampoo provided. There are relaxing opportunities like soaking in the shared bath and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The only drawback was the limited dining space, which made meals a bit tricky, but I'd definitely recommend exploring nearby cafes for a bite! 😊
